Heading to Haiti

In this life we cannot do great things.  We can only do small things with great love.-Mother Teresa

On January 12, 2010, the country of Haiti was devastated by 7.0 magnitude earthquake.  This combined with the lack of an infrastructure, has turned into what Elisabeth Byrs of the United Nations called, “the worst disaster the UN has ever been confronted with.“ The images and stories coming back are heart wrenching.

The country of Haiti has long held a special place in my heart since my first trip there in summer of 08.  And while the destruction is great the outpouring of love has been greater. As of February 11, Conduit has raised over $115,000 since the quake and has been working feverishly continue garnering financial and physical support.

Conduit Mission is preparing and scheduling teams to go down every week for the next 3-4 months. And I feel called to go down for the entirety of this time to work as a project manager for the rebuilding efforts. My monthly expenses will total approximately $1200 monthly while I am there, plus approximately $600 in flights, and another $500 in incidentals (shots, etc).  I am humbly requesting a donation of just $60, either a one time donation, or $10 monthly for 6 months.  If you can send more than that, I would be eternally grateful.  Anything over what I need will be given directly to the ministry there.  Additionally, all donations can be made to Conduit Mission, and will be tax deductible.  You can donate at the link to the right or mail a check to the address below..  I will be sure to send updates and photos, and hopefully some video while I am there so that you can keep telling the story of lives we are trying to rebuild.

I will be stationed in Jacmel, which is located on the south side of the Island, just 24 miles from the epicenter of the quake. Conduit has been a long term partner with restoration ministries there, and is passionate about beginning the process of rebuilding. I hope you can come along side us in this time of need as we show love to our brothers and sisters in Haiti.

Thank-you for your prayers and consideration.
